Lá em 2008, quando o maximal deixou de ser uma novidade e toda uma nova safra de jovens produtores nacionais puderam mostrar suas vicissitudes musicais, a dupla paulista Database lançou na web a divertida coletânea UGLYEDIT VOL. 1 (leia a resenha), em que Lucio Morais, Yuri Chix e seus companheiros mexeram em influências tão dispersas quanto Gilberto Gil, Tears for Fears e George Benson.

Quase um ano depois, o Database lança o Ugly Edits Vol. 2 com uma lista de obscuridades pescadas no fundo da alma da Alpha FM, além de mais convidados La Bionda, "Fullgás" (Marina Lima), Blur, Art of Noise, Stooges, Slayer (!), Metallica e - pasmem -, Minnie Riperton e sua aguda "Loving You".

A lista de convidados aumento, e incorporou bons nomes nacionais como DaDa Attack, Edu K, Twelves, DJ Chernobyl, Copacabana Club e os gringos do French Horn Rebellion, que estão de petisco nos players abaixo, ao lado de uma do próprio Database.
